Vietnam Manpower Exceeds Target, Sending Over 130,000 Workers Abroad

In the first 10 months of this year, Vietnam sent more than 130,000 workers overseas, surpassing its annual target by 4%, according to the Department of Overseas Labour under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs. Japan remained the leading destination, hiring over 62,700 workers, followed by Taiwan (China) with over 48,500, and the Republic of Korea with nearly 11,000. Other key destinations included China, Singapore, and Romania.

Vietnam’s original target for 2023 was to send 125,000 workers abroad. The early fulfillment of this target is attributed to the stability of traditional labor markets, which continue to provide significant employment opportunities for Vietnamese workers. Additionally, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has been expanding into European markets, offering higher incomes and job opportunities suited to the skills of Vietnamese workers.

With improvements in the selection, training, and deployment of workers under labor contracts, as well as enhanced efforts in promoting information on overseas employment, Vietnam Manpower has made significant strides in meeting international demand.
